We've fallen in love with a new show on TNT called Leverage. The draw for me to watch it was learning that Christian Kane was a star of it. (I've been watching Angel repeats a lot these days.)









You may also know him from a show that was on CBS called Close to Home. But probably not. His character was painfully underused and heartbreakingly killed.


He's starred in movies (Friday Night Lights, Secondhand Lions, Life or Something Like It) and guest starred on television shows (Dawson's Creek, Las Vegas).

Have I mentioned that Leverage also has Aldis Hodge? This was a pleasant surprise for me when we tuned in to watch the pilot episode. I yelled, "VooDoo!"... because he played VooDoo on Friday Night Lights.

Plus, it always helps my case when a television show I drool while watching is a good show. That's my leverage.

Happy Happy, Ryan!

What do I want for my birthday, you ask? I want to go to Rams Head in Annapolis, Maryland. Unfortunately, four and a half hours on a Tuesday in the middle of January doesn't work for me. *sigh*

I have decided that I want a Steelers pendant. For some reason I don't have one yet. I'm not sure who to tell to buy it for me. I'll probably just put it on my Christmas list for next year. Shawn is getting me a new camera. 3x zoom just isn't working for me. Of course, I don't know when I'll need more zoom if certain people never come near enough for me to see them.

Holidays were good. We always have a good time during the holidays. Shawn was off the week before and the week of Christmas and I was off the week of (well, I worked on Monday) and the week after. I felt so bad for my babies on my way to work on Monday. It had been a while since they had to be home without either of us for an extended period of time.

Speaking of my babies, I was supposed to post an updated picture of my tattoo. My tattoo guy wanted me to come back there too so he could get a picture when it was all healed. oops. I'm still anxious to get my next one. I thought I would get that one before my Sasha but I changed my mind. I have been wanting this one for over two years now. I remember I even told my dad about it and he liked the idea... we were both drunk but whatever. I want to get "hope" in my handwriting with a little star above it. There's a story about who and what that was inspired by but I'm not going to get into it here. That person knows who they are and what it's about.

My next day off work is the 19th. That seems like so far away. :( I was going to take the day after the Super Bowl off (not that we're doing anything spectacular, just because I'm anxious for another day off... heh) but Shawn asked me to wait to take off a day when he has his next week off (which is a week or two later).

What's the protocol?

So here I am in my first year of playing fantasy football and I am in the finals. I went up against Shawn's brother in the semi-final. I cannot explain to you how happy I am that I won. I just really wanted to beat him. Last year my FIL won first. BIL won second. Shawn won third. This year, Shawn got knocked out in the quarterfinal. Guess who I'm going up against in the final.

So is it wrong that more than wanting to win it for myself I really just want to beat him?
Am I allowed to smack talk my father-in-law?

fwiw, Shawn won both matchups I had with him during the regular season. He went into the playoffs in first place and I went in at seventh.
